N-able — cloud data protection
Designing complex workflows for cloud data protection products supporting Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
Role and scope
I worked at the intersection of UX, product strategy, and engineering, owning data-heavy workflows including onboarding, backup, and restore. The work balanced usability, technical constraints, and long-term maintainability.
Alongside hands-on product work, I planned qualitative research, synthesized findings, and helped stakeholders turn business and technical constraints into explicit product decisions.
Across products and teams
I worked on cross-product alignment to reduce fragmentation and prevent short-term solutions from becoming long-term product debt. I also identified gaps in UX/Engineering collaboration and introduced clearer communication and decision practices.
For approximately six months, I covered a UX management vacancy, supporting prioritization, design feedback, mentoring, and stakeholder communication.
Selected accounts of the work
The following accounts focus on design decisions and collaboration. Product and team details remain generalized.
Making temporary solutions sustainable
Comparing onboarding patterns, building interactive prototypes, and making the implications of a shared UX pattern explicit.
Earning trust through transparency
Introducing kickoffs, asynchronous design updates, and milestone reviews to make UX work visible and predictable.
